Spring is a time for rejuvenation. This issue marks the transitions from indoor rituals (the last being Vernal Equinox) to outdoor rituals (the first being Beltinne). Here are a few announcements to help encourage us to strip off the winter doldrums and rejuvenate ourselves and our community.
Warrior's Guild: Janet and Sherri are restarting the Warriors' Guild, and need your help! There are many people in the Grove interested in this important ritual role, but the previous Guild never quite got going. If you're interested, please do help out with this new incarnation! (April 5, 10 am, Sherri's).
Music Rehearsal: To drum or not to drum, that is the question. Well, here's the answer: To allow for drumming during the rituals, but to prevent total chaotic noise, Marae is scheduling Music Rehearsals for each ritual. If you would like to play anything other than your voice, it is asked that you attend the rehearsal, so we can work out beats together. (This applies to the group activities during rituals; anyone may perform anything for the praise offerings.) (April 22, 9pm, Marae's.)
Pot Luck: Rituals are followed by pot lucks, but it's been noted that only one or two families are bringing items. Please, especially if you have dietary constraints, but even if not, try to remember to bring a food item to share!
Clothing Drive: For the next three rituals (the next quarter, in other words), the official Grove public service will be a clothing drive. To the Vernal Equinox, Beltinne, and Summer Solstice rituals, please bring any unwanted but usable clothing items you may have. If you have something but forget to bring it to ritual, feel free to bring it to any Grove event and give it to Fox or Janet. Thanks!
It's Spring, so that means it's time for Wellspring! Well, not quite yet, but it's coming up fast, so make sure to mark your calendar if you plan on going.
What is Wellspring? It's the main annual conference/campout for Ár nDraíocht Féin (ADF), the international parent organization for SLG. Each year, there are rituals, feasts, and workshops. It's held in Brushwood, New York, the last weekend in May; this year, it's May 28 to June 1.
