This season of change has not left Shining Lakes Grove unaffected. All of our leadership positions are being filled by new people. Let us take this opportunity to thank all of our outgoing leadership and to welcome our new leadership.
Fox: For bringing your dream of a grove to life, and for the guidance and nurturing you gave us as we shaped the Grove together. We will all benefit from your continued efforts as our Archdruid, mentor and elder.
Rob Henderson: For your endless hours of devotion and time to our community as Assistant Senior Druid and Pursewarden, all while pursuing your collection of grove beads along the way. For all your efforts and your conquest to get a bead that only one other SLuG possesses, we welcome you with open arms as new Senior Druid.
Rodney Cox: For your interest in putting in many hours of devotion and time to our community, Rob Henderson has confidence in you, your abilities and talents to ask you to serve as the Assistant Senior Druid.
Jacqui Solti: You took on and conquered the position of SLG's first Grove Administrator. You did such a great job, there is no one to fill your shoes.
Patrick Monagin: As a member of the Grove and to the Pursewarden position, you bring enthusiasm, commitment and personal integrity.
Will Austin, Outreach Coordinator, will mysteriously disappear into the mists after contributing many hours in getting SLG information out into the community. Genevieve Stoyak will be stepping into this position after appearing from the mists and into our lives last Samhain.
Elizabeth Foshion will be leaving the position of Grove Scribe after stepping in and taking this on when we needed someone to fill the vacant position. Jan Henderson will be sharing her time and talents with us as the new Grove Scribe.
Recognition goes out to all grove members who were nominated for a leadership position. Your grovemates have confidence in you and your commitment of time and energy that you were willing to give to the grove, to honor you with that nomination.
Last but not least, a thank you goes out to all members who participated in the election process by their heartfelt deliberation on the leadership needs of the grove and by taking the time to be involved in the voting process.
Heartfelt thanks to all the outgoing Leadership
and
Warm welcome to all incoming Leadership
Blessings for the upcoming year be upon us all,
Annette Gabriel
Assistant Senior Druid (for another year)
The Lore class will start again in November at the Guild House.
For those of you new to paganism who want to know more about Celtic lore, Druidism, or the cosmology and practice of Shining Lakes Grove, the Druidic Lore series is especially for you. The series will cover the development of Neopagan and Druidic movements, an overview of the Indo-European peoples, Celtic history, mythology and lore, as well as SLG's liturgy, cosmology and spiritual practices. Starting Nov. 9th, 730-9:30 pm.
In this time of transition to new leadership for Shining Lakes Grove, let us take this opportunity to explore and understand how to be an effective, loving community, accepting of all its members. A community that encourages unity and personal growth, in the service of the gods. It is in this spirit that you are all invited to our Grove Retreat* on Saturday, November 20th from 1-5 pm at Fox and Janet's. Hope to see you there!
* To create and maintain safe space to communicate with our other grovemates, the Grove Retreats are reserved for Shining Lakes Grove members only.
