SLG Business Meeting Minutes

March 9th, 2000

Present: Rodney Cox, Rob Henderson, Genevieve Stoyak, Annette Gabriel, Maria Valayil, Don Clayton, Patrick Monagin, Todd McGuire, and Aldous Tyler.

Meeting started at 7:15.

Check in was done

Agenda was set.
We all gave our opinions on our involvement with Samhain Harvest, as Aldous was to be present later, and we all wanted to know where each stood on the matter.

Schedule was reviewed

• Paintball was scheduled for April 8.
• Wheat planting 4pm on April 15.
• No An Bruane on April 17.
• Producers & Naturalists were moved from May 21 to May 14.
• No lore class on June 13. Last class is to be May 23.

Officer Reports

• SD: nothing to report.
• Annette: Has bag of Grove stuff, including ballets from Oct elections, which will be burned.
• Rod: Passed out mail.
• Outreach Coordinator: Has Crazy Wisdom announcement form.
• Pursewarden: Still not embezzling. We have enough money to pay advance to Emerich.
• Grove Ecologist: Ritual to be done for the Clinton River. Water level is down. There will be a nature walk with tracking and map reading being taught.
• Chronicler: nothing to report.

Guild Leaders

• Seers: Working to get apprentices up to speed. Issues with helping with Security at Lughnassadh were discussed.
• Healers: Approved Kirn's book choices that would be used for her attempt to gain Journeyman status in the Guild.
• Warriors: The retreat was planned, as well as paintball happening in April.
• Magicians: Presentation on Intuition Magic by Kristen Desentz. This qualifies her to receive a Guild bead. Talked about shielding. Guild had an official request from a Grove member to do a magickal working.
• Producers: Made and sold Brid crosses at ConVocation. Have plenty left. Producers next meeting to be April 8, 3-6pm.

Agenda Items

• We paid Guild House $290 that we owed them for two months. Patrick will keep payments current.
• Ripples meeting will be on March 30th at Basia's at 7pm. Let her know by the 29th if you are attending.
• SLG list rules. This was tabled until April. Will review rules.
• Member Directory discussed. Tithing and dues and were discussed. Issues were tabled for now.
• Grove involvement with Samhain Harvest. Aldous spoke to the Leadership Council. Listed as reasons for leaving national group, they are too inflexible, unorganized, and unreasonable. Aldous wants a better run event with vendors, group booths, and workshops. He will also try to accomodate our schedule.
  After listening to Aldous, we voted to not do a mirror event by ourselves, and to not get directly involved with Samhain Harvest.
